The premier event on the City of Penrith Motor Cycle Club’s race calendar is the Annual Classic Dirt Track Charity Weekend.
As the title implies the primary purpose of this two-day event is to raise funds to support our selected Charity for 2019.
The format of the Classic Dirt Track Charity Weekend differs from our normal racing events primarily because it is open only to bikes that were manufactured in and prior to 1995. Some bikes are over 50 years old and still racing around the renowned Nepean Raceway at Castlereagh, which coincidentally is celebrating its 60th year in 2019.
Over the two days, spectators will be well catered for with free entry on the Saturday and just a Gold Coin donation on the Sunday. Free parking, Clean amenities, a great Canteen, Coffee truck … and that’s just the start! |

On Saturday 17th
There will be the “Man and Machine” versus the famous Nepean Track for the legendary two 25 Lappers for all machines up to Evolution (approx. 1984) and all machines Pre ’85 to Pre ’95.
Twenty five laps around Nepean Raceway is no mean feat for any rider on any machine! Put them on, up to a 50 year old bike, and this is where the wheat gets separated from the chaff!
Is it the bike or the rider or a combination of both?
Following that will be the “Classic Charity Weekend After Party”! A great time to meet the Nepean legends from the past, bench race and chin wag over a drink … plus “all you can eat pizza” accompanied by ribs and salad.
Just $25 gets you a ticket! (BYO)
The “Classic Charity Weekend After Party” is not limited to riders.
Family and Spectators are most welcome. |
Water and soft drinks will be available for sale from the canteen and BYO supplies are just up the road at the Caltex Servo at Castlereagh.
On Sunday 18th
There will be demonstrations rides from some of the great names of Nepean Raceway’s past.
PLUS static Bike Displays, a Show and Shine and much, much more!
Of course, there will also be a full day’s action-packed Classic Racing! The thrills and spills of Dirt Track racing are hard to beat and there are great vantage spots around the track to see the action “up close”.
If you want to get even closer to the action … you can volunteer to be a Marshall for the day which offers not only a front row seat but free refreshments and lunch plus other great benefits.
Our sponsors are an essential part of fundraising for the Classic Charity Weekend.
Please visit their businesses or pages by clicking on their logos.
This year our chosen Charity is Australian Rotary Health Support for Early Onset Dementia Research.
This cause is especially close to our hearts as former club Vice President, Peter “Teflon” James #910, battles this horrible disease.
Here’s a link to Pete’s story.
Our life member Wally Cox has already started the fundraising ball rolling by securing a $5,000 grant through the State Member for Mulgoa, Tanya Davies. This is a fantastic way to start our fundraising and thank you to Tanya as well as Brad Hazzard MP, Minister for Health.
Of course, we want to raise as much money as possible, so if you, your club, your business or your workplace would like to sponsor an event, please follow this link to download a Sponsorship Form
